Scallop Jacket (english)
English knitting pattern
Scallop jacket is worked top down in 2x2 rib (k2, p2) with raglan increases at the yoke. Short rows (here: German Short Rows) are worked at the neck to shape the neckline. Yoke and body are worked back and forth on one long circular needle, the sleeves are worked on dpns or with the Magic Loop method. The body is finished with a ribbing (k1, p1) and bind off with the Italian method and double face. The sleeves are worked without ribbed cuffs and are bind off with the Italian method and 2x2 rib. You pick up stitches for the neckline and front bands next to the selvedge stitches at the body. Button holes are placed on the right front band. Finally, you sew on the buttons to the left front band.
Check the sizes and measurements first. The measurements are calculated according to the gauge. Knit a gauge swatch first, so that you hit the correct gauge. Take measurements after washing and blocking. You might have to change the needle size to hit the correct gauge.
